International Consultant. Led the development of a first methodology for the integration of professionals with disabilities

Fernando Botelho is an international consultant who manages projects in the following fields: trade development, poverty reduction, technology and disability. He has specialized in tools and strategies that are inherently scalable; in his own words 'The only solutions that matter, taking into account the enormous challenges facing humanity, are those that can be extended.' Fernando's experience includes the management of the Visionaris Award, an association between Ashoka and UBS AG, in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. Before arriving at the UBS Philanthropic Services in Zurich, Fernando worked for the International Trade Center UNCTAD / WTO, a United Nations agency in Geneva. At the CCI, Fernando led the development of the first methodology for the integration of professionals with disabilities in the export services sector. Before joining the CCI, Fernando was Director of Technology at an NGO in New York where he led the development of eSight.org, an innovative online community for the professional advancement of people with disabilities. Fernando has published and been interviewed about trade, free software, public policies, and issues related to disability. He is a graduate of the Universities of Georgetown and Cornell.
