Gaurav is founder of "2020 Social" an international entity focused on the Social Business Strategy and co-founder of Vote Report India, a participatory platform based in Ushahidi that has been key in the network for the recent electoral process in India. Like "Yahoo! Fellow ", Gaurav is conducting research on how social media is being used in BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China). Gaurav is also a professor of a postgraduate course at Georgetown University in "Social Media, Commerce, Development and Government." Gaurav has contributed in publications about online journalism, digital activism and Government 2.0. and has its own "Gauravonomics blog" where it analyzes the social media and the fight against consumerism. He graduated from IIM Bangalore and from a very young age held senior marketing positions in the Tata Group.
